St. Patrick's Day. Thornlie Tavern.
I was quite annoyed no hats were on offer with the purchase of multiple pints of Guinness. As we have become 'regulars' (having been there at least three times) the bar maidens have taken a liking to us. As soon as we walked in Guinness t-shirts and two pints were handed over without even a single word uttered. I could get used to this.
I showed one of the barmaids how to make a Baby Guinness which she was very impressed with.
Met a bloke from Staffordshire who promptly bought the next round. The bar girl also gave us a round on the house. Score.
Weirdly, the pub in question closed absurdly early, 9pm, then served last orders to everyone there, kicked them out into the beer garden and shut up shop. Everyone was still outside drinking for at least an hour. A little bizarre.
